Strong by design not weight is the trick, aluminum boats are strong enough to be the trailer if strapped wheels to it so why make the trailer so heavy. just make arangements to tie the trailer tight to the boat. if it is over 18 ft long tie it in the middle as well, you don't have to run the strap side to side just hook a strong weld on cleat.
